  4. The commands understood by the ListSERV program are:
  5.  
  6.     HELP
  7.           Lists this file. This is also  sent  whenever  a  message  to
  8.           ListSERV is received from which no  valid  command  could  be
  9.           parsed.
  10.  
  11.     ADD [address] listname
  12.     DELETE [address] listname
  13.           Adds or deletes  the  given  address  to  or  from  the  list
  14.           specified. Mail is sent to the address given to  confirm  the
  15.           add or delete operation.   If  you  omit  the  'address'  the
  16.           command will assume the mailbox that is in the From: line  of
  17.           the message. Note  that  SUBSCRIBE  is  a  synonym  for  ADD;
  18.           UNSUBSCRIBE for DELETE.

  20.     DELETE-ALL [address]
  21.     UNSUBSCRIBE-ALL [address]
  22.           Unsubscribes given address from all mailing  lists.  Mail  is
  23.           sent the address given to confirm the deletions. If you  omit
  24.           the 'address' the command will assume the mailbox that is  in
  25.           the From: line of the message.

  27.     A command must be the first word on each  line  in  the  message.  Lines
  28. which do not start with a command word result in this file to be  sent.   If
  29. no commands were found in the entire message,  that  message  is  completely
  30. ignored. A single message may contain multiple commands; some  commands  may
  31. result in a separate reply (namely FAQ, HELP) while others will  just  write
  32. something to the logfile. You will always receive a response to any  command
  33. found in the mail.

  40.      ADD myaddress@mysite
  41.      FAQ

  43. will add myaddress@mysite to  the  "Testlist"  and  send  the  FAQ  back  in
  44. return.

  46.     Please note that  it  IS  possible  to  add  or  delete  someone  else's
  47. subscription  to  a  mailing  list.  This  facility  is  provided  so   that
  48. subscribers may alter their  own  subscriptions  from  a  new  or  different
  49. computer account. There is  therefore  some  potential  for  abuse;  I  have
  50. chosen to limit this by mailing a confirmation notification of any  addition
  51. or deletion to the address added or deleted including a copy of the  message
  52. which requested the operation. At least you can find out who's doing  it  to
  53. you.

  61.     Note that you mail submissions to a mailing list by addressing  mail  to
  62. the list's name at this site (e.g., niftylist@aobh.xs4all.nl).  If  you have
